Ineos and UAE open their racing win accounts emphatically.

Wow! So much happening already, it's hard to keep up. But a couple of performances have stood out already.
Ineos as a team have responded to all the doom, gloom and drama off the bike by letting the legs do the talking. In the UAE tour, 21 yr old Josh Tarling put 18 seconds into World #1 Tadej Pogacar to win the stage 2 time trail.
Then in Spain ex World Champion Michal Kwiatkowski rode out in front all day over a tough road and gravel course at the Clasica Jaen Interior to claim victory. Fellow Ineos rider Egan Bernal who has been on stellar form with a double road and TT title in the highly competitive Columbian Road Race Championships, came down on a tricky downhill on gravel and into a gated or grated pinch point that saw a number of riders come down, with Egan suffering a broken collar bone. Desperately unlucky after such a long road back after his near death accident 3 years ago.

Then over to Portugal in stage 1 of the Volta AO Algarve'. What promised to be a bunch sprint finish descended into farce when on the final turn and run into the finish line the peloton, or 90% off, followed directions to the wrong side of the barriers and Filippo Ganna of Ineos was left to sprint for the win! The stage was neutralised, every rider given the same time and no official win for a rightfully unhappy Ganna. Although he will start stage 2 in the leaders jersey.

Back in the UAE tour, after finishing 2nd to Josh Tarling in the TT, POGi showed why he is the undisputed World Champ with a explosive sprint for the win on stage 3 in the final 100 meters after 15k's of full gas climbing, and barely looking like he broke a sweat! With more kudos going again to Josh Tarling who came in only 25seconds after Tadej! Not bad for a 21 yr old TT specialist. Blindingly bright future for that lad.
